'Jana Nayagan' Producer Clarifies CBFC Status; Certification Still Awaited
Chennai, July 7: The makers of Jana Nayagan, the much-awaited final film of actor-turned-politician Vijay, have dismissed widespread social media rumours claiming that the movie has already received its censor certificate. The film's producer has officially confirmed that the certification process with the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) is still underway and that no final certificate has been issued yet.
The clarification comes after several fake reports and edited images circulated online, falsely stating that the film had received an 'A' certificate. The production team urged fans to rely only on official announcements regarding the film's censor status and release plans.
Directed by H. Vinoth, Jana Nayagan is one of the most anticipated Tamil films of the year and is widely expected to be Vijay's final feature film before fully focusing on his political career. The movie features an ensemble cast including Pooja Hegde, Bobby Deol, Prakash Raj, Priyamani, Narain, Mamitha Baiju, and Gautham Vasudev Menon, with music composed by Anirudh Ravichander.
Industry reports suggest that the makers remain optimistic about completing the remaining certification formalities soon, paving the way for an official theatrical release announcement. Until then, fans are advised to ignore unverified claims circulating on social media.
